Oh what a season.

It has been a season for the record books. Croakers continue to bite in November? They are down on the wrecks right next to the Sea Bass and the Tautog. The Sea Bass fishing this Fall has been fantastic. Both our half day trip and our extended full day trips have yielded excellent results. Captain Mike is back in Delaware with Family for the winter like every year. Captain Rob has demonstrated excellent ability with planning, anchoring and all around being a fishy guy.

We look forward to new trips to extend our season for wreck fishing into December once we install our new double anchor system this Fall. This new system will allow for more pinpoint accuracy with the Miss Chris and that will mean more fish over the rail!

Not all records are the kind we want, and the fluke season of 2024 never got cooking the way we hoped. Cold water for the duration of the summer slowed the bit to nil in some cases. We managed some fish but we never saw the numbers inshore we had hoped for. Fortunately we tried some new long range tactics, even on the four hour(extended) trip and found fish in waters normally reserved for long full day trips. The Miss Chris has the size and speed to accomplish this when the conditions are right. All fluke fishing wrapped up in September.

A true surprise of the fall has been Bluefin Tuna! The Tuna have been at the Sea Isle Ridge with some consistency??? We have seen them as near to our own inlet as Taylor Slough- off Wildwood and the Cape May Reef! Just because you can see them doesn’t mean we are targeting these amazing fish. We have tried a few trolls with no success. Other small boats have taken their whack at them with little success, with a couple fish landed inside of 20 miles. It seems like the jigging opportunity of a lifetime.

All in all we have had an amazing season. Our new cabin updates were well received. The new heating and air conditioning system performed flawlessly, as well as the cushioned seating. We have plans to update the pilot house, GPS system, anchor system, and bathrooms this winter, as soon as we complete our United States Coast Guard Inspection.

The 2025 schedule is up and available at CapeMayFisherman.com. We are already booking our private charters for 2025, so please contact us as soon as possible to secure your dates.

From myself, the Captains and Crew of the Miss Chris and the whole Stewart Family, Thank you for making this a Season to Remember. We enjoyed every minute and we look forward to seeing you in 2025!
