As Fluke season closes, and we enter Fall, Captain Mike reports good action on Blues, Kingfish and Weakfish.

September brought a few more keeper fluke to the Miss Chris Dock. Some notable catches were in the two to four-pound range on the Half Day boat. Triggerfish also made a strong showing and are still an option now as the fluke season closes. As we approached the end of the season, the last couple weeks, conditions offshore were not conducive for fluking, so Captain Mike shifted his efforts to Blues and Weakfish as well as Kingfish in Delaware Bay. The fishing has been decent. The bluefish are under birds so mid-water and topwater action is possible with bucktails and metal. The shifting shoals of the rips allow for top and bottom rigs too with a few larger weakfish mixed in. Captain Mike also has his favorite spots up Delaware bay which are still producing kingfish, croakers, and spot. The mixed bag of the fall has just begun and it looks like it will be one to remember with warm, summer-like temps and hopefully calm seas. Sea Bass opens October 8, 2019, and we have our plans set for this fishery throughout October. We look forward to seeing you aboard.
